They are mainly divided into connection and fixation types, protection types, and auxiliary types, collectively guaranteeing the insulating and load-bearing functions of insulators in power systems.
Classification and Functions of Main Fittings:
Different types of fittings perform different functions, covering the entire process from installation and fixation to long-term protection.
1. Connection and Fixation Accessories
These components form the primary connection between insulators and supports/conductors, directly affecting the overall structural stability.
• Insulator Sleeve: Located at the top of the insulator, it connects to the insulating element (porcelain, glass, or composite material) via cement adhesive. Internal connection holes or threads facilitate attachment to conductor fittings (e.g., socket-type suspension plates), transmitting the tension and weight of the conductor.
• Insulator Steel Foot: Positioned at the bottom, typically designed with a spherical base or threaded structure. It is inserted into the mounting holes of support brackets or connected to base fittings (e.g., ball-type suspension rings) to secure the insulator to the support, bearing its entire weight and external forces.
• Connection Fittings:
Include socket-type suspension plates, ball-type suspension rings, U-shaped suspension rings, etc. These serve as intermediate connectors, linking one end to the insulator's iron cap/steel foot and the other end to the support or conductor. They provide flexible connections between components, allowing angular adjustments along the line.
2. Protective Accessories
Mainly used to prevent corrosion and external damage, extending the service life of insulators and accessories.
