Ring liners are a type of shock-absorbing component with a circular structure, available in various shapes and used in various applications. Below are descriptions of some common ring liners:
Piston ring liners: These are part of the composite oil ring installed on pistons and work in conjunction with scraper rings. Typically manufactured from thin steel strip using processes such as rolling, bending, shearing, and heat treatment, they support the scraper ring in both the radial and axial directions. They provide radial elastic force to the scraper ring, allowing it to better adhere to the cylinder wall. This facilitates scraping and distributing functions, ensuring proper lubrication of the cylinder, piston, and rings.
Seal backup ring: Also called a backup ring or anti-extrusion ring, they are typically used with elastic seals such as O-rings. Made of rigid materials, including polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), metal, or hard rubber, it maintains its shape under high pressure. This prevents the elastic seal from being squeezed into the gap and failing, thereby increasing seal effectiveness and extending its service life.
